FAQs
What is the University Chapter Incubation Program?
The CIP (Chapter Incubation Program) is a two step program. The first is a six week bootcamp during the upcoming semester, and second is the following semester where incubating chapters will build software for their first time in their local communities. Hack4Impact knows starting a chapter is hard. We created the Chapter Incubation Program to help founders learn about the hardships of building software for nonprofit organizations. You can learn more about the program here.
Why Hack4Impact?
Hack4Impact was created in 2014 by a group of passionate students and friends with a dream to help nonprofits through technology. Since then, we've become experts on how to do so with a community of 11 other chapters. With our experience, we believe we can help you do good faster, easier, and morally conscious to make sure you are truly having an impact.
What's the application timeline?
Overall, our process can take a couple of months from application review, chapter interview with the national board, and a decision. You can find more detailed information about our process on our notion resource page.
What nonprofits have you all worked with?
Hack4Impact has worked with over 50 nonprofit organizations across North America (go Canada!). Each chapter has their own portfolio of nonprofits that range from organizations like the Boys and Girls club of America, Habitat for Humanity, and Meal Care. You can learn more about the activities of every chapter here.
Do you only accept universities?
No! While we don't have a formal process for non-university programs, please email us at contact@hack4impact.org. We think that the application process for non-traditional chapters will be similar, but we'd love to hear your story before you apply!
Have more questions?
